Portfolio
A portfolio is a selected collection of work samples that demonstrates relevant skills, decisions, process, and outcomes for a target audience.
A portfolio is a curated collection of work samples used to demonstrate ability. Portfolios are common in design, writing, software, architecture, marketing, research, and other fields where examples help an employer evaluate the work.
Select a small set of relevant pieces rather than every project; for each item, explain the problem, your role, important constraints, decisions, and outcome. Separate your contribution from the team's work; a product designer's case study might show research findings, design alternatives, tradeoffs, and the released result. A developer may link to code, documentation, or a working project while explaining architecture and limitations; remove confidential data and obtain permission when required; each item should identify the problem, constraints, personal contribution, decisions, and outcome while removing confidential material and making collaborative work accurately attributed to the right contributor.
For example, a designer might present a case study that explains the problem, constraints, design decisions, and final outcome.
